In an attempt to provide the method for the efficient treatment of waste water of a food manufacturing company, intensive investigation of sewage pollution was conducted for 3-4 days in a row in July, August and September respectively. The results of sewage analysis showed high pollution of B.O.D with the average range of 641-762p.p.m and C.O.D 798-1031p.p.m. Laboratory treatment studies, such as sedimentation, trickling filtration and sand filtration were carried out for the reduction of pollutants of subjected factory.
The efficiency of treatment by the combined method of 2 hours sedimentation and recirculating trackling filtration was evaluated about 86% of average B.O.D removal and considered as relatively economic means for the purpose.
